I don’t even think posting ideas helps anymore but…
Instead of eliminating rotation altogether, why not make slow castings a little less slow, and dissect the fraternization of the game.
How to implement:
- Remove the voting system from Castings entirely. When the nominees aren’t decided by the players anyways, I feel it’s pointless to let players vote to keep people in a slow castings. Fraternization can really dominate here if a bunch of good players join and constantly save their friend round after round, drawing the natural course of the game out.
- Maintain the current death system. When your health is at 0% at an update, you’re out of the game.
- Utilize the statistics and competitions. At the end of each DC, the person with the lowest competition score, and the person with the lowest amount of checks are automatically eliminated, unless a key is in play.
- Make it so that everyone is eligible to die at 0% health at any time in the game. Currently, if a nominee hits 0% health, they will not die until DC, assuming they don’t get voted out. Keeping the game with no nominees, and automatic eliminations, anyone would be able to hit 0% and be eliminated at any moment.
These slight changes would not only increase the speed of the game, and therefore speed up rotation because people wouldn’t get stuck in week-long castings… but it would also add a bit of a competitive/social edge back to Castings. Knowing that the least social player will be automatically eliminated I believe would productively make slow castings a more involved game, produce more keys, create a competitive final day, all while keeping the game fast by having two automatic eliminations per D/C.
TLDR;
-Get rid of voting
-2 auto elims per 12-hour game day based on stats/comp
-Speed up rotation by making the average castings length 2-3 full days instead of 4-7 days
