100 Days of Voting: DARBE

1stNov 29, 2019 by SmoothStalker12
Here is Darbe's Final 2 speech:

In terms of why I think I should win over Admir, I think it is important to highlight that me and Admir employed very different strategies despite voting in unison throughout the game. We worked amazingly as a duo and I am so proud that we were able to make it to the end together, despite being an obvious final 2 which the other players were CONSTANTLY reminded of. While I have huge respect for how Admir played, I would like to emphasise a few key distinctions between our games.

I did not come into this game with even half of the social relationships that Admir had. I'd like to remind the jury that Admir has played 9x more games than me on Tengaged and is a very active member of the community. Most of the people in this game either already were his friend, or they'd seen him around and wanted to be! The few people that I came into this game knowing (approximately 5), ALL were closer with Admir, meaning that if they had the chance they would have always picked him over me. This can be evidenced by the fact that Admir has been getting countless juror support comments over the last few days from people who he had very little interaction with in this game. I, on the other hand, had a much more uphill battle as I never had a huge support network and therefore my gameplay rested on me having to form NEW relationships and severely enhance my already existing ones. Furthermore, while Admir finished 32nd in the last season of The 100, I finished in the top 10. This meant that Admir never had the additional hurdle of being grouped with other successful 100 players OR being targeted specifically for being a threat in this game. Despite these obstacles, I manoeuvred my way through this game through careful yet strong social gameplay. The fact that I was NEVER targeted in the vote until DAY 95 is illustrative of this. On the other hand, Admir was a set on numerous occasions throughout the game, as I had positioned myself in a way to always make it seem like Admir was the more dominant player, when in reality I was usually pulling the strings behind closed doors.

Making overt, bold moves was a strategy that I actively avoided in this game. If you look at the bootlist, most of the people who were attempting to make big plays were voted out very quickly. My strategy was always to make sure the other players in the game felt like I was indifferent to being in this game, as this would limit the target on my back. When there was somebody I wanted to target, I would never say their name in an alliance chat as I knew this would inevitably get leaked and I'd seem like I was calling the shots. Instead, I would message my alliance members individually and encourage them to target a particular person -> they would put the name in the chat and get blood on their hands -> the person I wanted to go home would go home without anyone looking in my direction. I also accumulated Three powers at the beginning of the game and used them to target people who I thought would be bad for my long term game, enabling me to further invoke my strategy of targeting big players in secret.

If I had to pinpoint one play that got me to the end, I think it was a decision I made at f5. I knew from very early in the game that temponeptune had formed some kind of F2 alliance with Admir, and I knew that an incredibly smart player like Bryce, on a strategic level, would definitely not want me in the final 3. Had he of made the move to get me out at f5, I am pretty sure he would have won this game, so I knew that campaigning to him on a strategic level would be counterproductive. Instead, by reminding him of how proud & humbled I was that him and Admir had stayed loyal to me the whole game, Bryce dropped his plans to blindside me. This plan didn't just keep me in the game, but also ensured I didn't come across too threatening on a strategic level, so he wouldn't want to blindside me the following day change either.

As aforementioned, my gameplay throughout was to stay under the radar and to make my alliance members FEEL like they were the ones making all of the moves, so they would feel taking me to the end of the game and thinking they could beat me in a F2. In reality, I was the one who was pulling the strings in deciding who would go home almost every day change at the final 10.
- For a few days preceding the F10, I planted the seed with my alliance that AJ wasn't to be trusted. At F10, I told them we needed to get him out ASAP. Votes were rallied and AJ went home
- At F9, me and Admir came up with a plan to blindside Adam/Mitch who were playing the middle. Admir wanted to target Adam, whereas I knew that getting Mitch out was our best chance at securing votes as he had less social ties. Mitch ended up going home, with Adam going home the following DC
- At F7, my alliance wanted to target Caleb/Gabbie. I changed the plan and wanted to vote James (ily <3) as I felt he was the biggest juror threat remaining in the game and I knew I had to cut one of Admir's closer allies. I told my alliance that voting Gabbie the following day change would be the best strategy as she was the strongest threat remaining who wasn't in our alliance
- At F5, Alan going was the best for my game as I felt he was more likely to make a deal with Bryce to get me out than Caleb was.
- On a personal and strategic level, I wanted me/bryce/admir in the final 3 from the beginning. Not only were they my closest relationships, but I always knew that Admir would take me to the Final 2. Therefore, Caleb getting 4th was essential for that to happen
- F3 was one of the hardest decisions I had to make all game. Bryce came to me with a great pitch for evicting Admir, but ultimately I thought that Bryce would make a killer speech and would have undoubtedly played the best game if he managed to get me and Admir to turn against each other. He had also been the main activist in rallying the votes for each day change so I knew he had strong social relationships.

I was the set every day change from F7-F3 for being a threat, yet my social game was so strong that I managed to avoid going home every day.

I think both me and Admir are very deserving winners of The 100, but I think that my gameplay was superior as I had much more of an uphill battle and my gameplay was much more consistent & calculated.

Good luck Admir ily <3
