a lot (an overwhelming amount) of hotel/motel owners are Indian. I know this because I work in sales and I can pretty much call any line of work that I want and try to sell them.
Usually I never call Hotels/Motels because they're under contract most of the time or are locked in with EcoLab, Proctor&Gamble, Granger ect ect.
But when you do get a hotel that isn't they're a gold mine of money and you can close those guys on like 800 - 1000 dollar orders because of how much cleaning chemicals they use.
So I discovered this recently and I began calling hotels exclusively for the past few weeks. I've sold to 7 hotels/motels in the past two weeks, 4 of the buyers had the last name 'Patel', two had regular "white" names, and the other guy had an Indian last name too.
And a lot of the contact names that I have for hotels are Indian last names or 5/10 times "Patel".
Are there any Indian Tengagers that could shed some light on this? Is hotel and tourism like a big thing for rich Indians?
I don't really bother calling restaurants - small mom and pop places won't give me the time of day and big chains like that are REALLY buying from corporate more so than hotels or just restaurant depot.
