I've given my rival so many different nicknames over the years. Besides the obvious ones we all did as kids like "Poop" and "Stupid" or anything along those lines, I usually named my rivals after other people I knew who played Pokemon.
Originally it was after my younger brother, Triton. Then it was probably either Greg or Lawrence - my two childhood best friends. And then after that, I think i stopped nicknaming the rival for a long time, until recently. Now I usually name myself after drag queens or Lady Gaga (my true original stan), so my rival gets nicknamed after someone that queen has had a fight with (or who sent them home in a lip sync), or it's Madonna since she hates Queen Gaga (before any fellow Little Monsters hate me, I still like Madonna).
I was not lucky enough to ever play the spin-off games for the GameCube, so for me this one is gonna be pure nostalgia. My first ever Pokemon game was LeafGreen on the Gameboy Advance SP, and although I never fully beat the game until a few years ago, I used to play LeafGreen all the time. It was the only Pokemon game I had until the Nintendo DS and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl came out, but I remember bringing that game with me on every car trip for years when I was a kid. The best memory I have of that game was bringing it to a special bar/restaurant that my family always goes to for family dinners, and we used to always sit at the same large table (the only table they had bigger than a table for 4) that was also right by the window. My brother (who had FireRed) and I would just sit at the window and play Pokemon the entire time.
Day 26 - Favorite Moment from the Pokemon Anime?
(those doing the challenge changed today's question, because it was originally the exact same question as yesterday)
This one was a bit harder for me because I haven't watched the anime since Unova (family cut cable before Kalos, and I was too lazy to find it online). However, of the first few moments to come to mind, one of my favorites is the battle between Ash vs. Elesa. Here's a quick summary of how this episode plays out, but a version is linked below.
1. Ash spends the entire night before his battle "strategizing"
2. Ash's entire "strategy" to beat Elesa is to beat all 3 of her Pokemon with Palpitoad.
3. Palpitoad faints, and it's revealed Ash didn't even bring any other Pokemon with him to the gym battle.
4. Ash "counters" Emolga and Attract with Snivy, forgetting both that Emolga is a Flying-type, which is super effective against Snivy, and that Snivy is also Female so he can't counter Attract with Attract.
5. Snivy faints, and Ash again doesn't have a clue how to counter Electric-types.
6. Pikachu electrocutes Ash, frustrated that Ash has forgotten Pikachu exists.
7. Emolga faints, and reveals her ace "electric queen" is Tynamo.
8. Ash and crew are baffled at how Tynamo could be Elesa's strongest Pokemon and make fun of Tynamo
9. Tynamo is revealed to have literal god speed and is insanely fast, easily pounding Pikachu into the ground (literally)
10. Ash still wins though because the Anime has spent too much time in Nimbasa city at this point.
It's a pure fucking disaster of a mess, but it's entertaining af.
So my favorite animals are Pugs, Koalas, and Otters. We don't have a pug pokemon yet, and Komala is terrible. So we're going with the otter, and this fun starter is quite adorable <3
Day 24 - A Pokemon You'd Find Useful in Real Life?
I'm gonna pick Ivysaur. Why? Because Bulbasaur helped out all the fucking time in the anime using its vines and shit to hold/carry things, but Bulbasaur is small. Venusaur is too big, so Ivysaur is the perfect size, and tbh I think Ivysaur is a very cool Pokemon.
