Hey y'all! Sorry for the late post, had a busy day and I only had to do it now haha. I think almost all of us really embraced the smash hits theme, I was happy seeing these awesome submissions coming in. With that being said, here are the results with a few short comments:
Pompeii - Bastille - I mean, how can you not like this song? It's very catchy and the chorus is really nice, this is the definition of a smash hit for me. In a weird way, it's not something that I want to listen to on a playlist but will always like when it comes on the radio. I'm kinda dumb though and don't understand what the song means rip

(N) Pompeii: This song is bad. I don't know why so many people like it but whenever I hear it on the radio I immediately turn it off. The lyrics piss me off and the background music isn't good either.

Waterfalls - TLC - Ugh, I really wanted to like this. Everyone knows I love this era of music but this was like a total miss for me. The main singer's voice is grating, the long instrumental pause before the chorus was annoying, even when you get to the chorus it's meh, it's way too long, and the second singer's (the girl with the really long ponytail thing) voice was terrible, she sounded like a congested 4th grader. Sorry bro I appreacite the effort with era but this was a swing and miss

(N) Waterfalls: I'm sorry but this was just boring to me. I had to relisten to this song because it was so forgettable to me. It has the one nice lyric "dont go chasin waterfalls" but everything else kind of sucked. So boring.

Zombie - I mean this has to be one of the most iconic 90s-2000s songs right? They kinda let Dolores (the main singer) carry the song for like half of it (the instruments get a lot quieter and focus on her vocals) but I'm totally fine with that because her vocals are far and away the best part of this song. To be candid I do think the song kinda drags towards the end but overall a good song. That music video with the gold kids is so weird though

(N) Zombie: YES! This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Genuinely this song is very good, though I think covers of this song are way better. I love everything about it.

no tears left to cry - Ariana Grande - Yeah this is the second big miss for me. I like nothing about this song, there's such a thick layer of autotune on almost everything and it just kind of ruins the song. I have no problem with a little bit of autotune, everyone uses it, but kinda like Tangerine it just kind of ruins it in this scenario. I'm a big chorus guy as you could probably tell by now and there was very little chorus in this song (I mean it was short and didn't distinguish itself from the rest of the song) and what was there wasn't great

(N) no tears left to cry: I LOVE THIS SONG! This is what I'm looking for in submissions. It's a litter overrated though and that brings it down for me since there are similar songs in this category which are better imo.

Paradise - Coldplay - I mean, it's not bad? I'm not an overall fan of the vibe but the chorus is nice and kinda drags this song across the finish line. Not much to say about this song tbh, it's good not great. Whoever made this music video was smoking good stuff and high off his balls though

Toxic - Britney Spears - I mean, this is a certified banger through and through right? As I said for Waterfalls, I'm a big fan of this era, from the ridiclous music video and the light layer of aututone, this is classic early 2000's music. The only detriment is that it does feel a bit formulaic

Old Town Road - Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus - So normally I would hold it aganist you that this song is massively, massively, massively overplayed ( or i guess was) but it's a smash hits theme so I'll ignore it. I mean, there's a reason this song got #1 for like 5 years. It's very catchy but like Toxic it's kinda formulaic pop. I appreacite the country tinge but in reality it's still pretty much a pop song. I feel like they brought in Billy Ray Cyrus to distunigsh the country but it fell flat to me. Still kinda a bop though

(N) Old town road: LOL this is a good song to listen to when you are driving. I'll always crank it up. Other then that though... kind of just bland. I don't really think it deserved it's time at #1.

Under The Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Okay to be totally honest this song really didn't capture my attention. I was scrolling through tg while listening and totally forgot I was listening to music. It's a little too low energy, relegating it to mostly background noise, but the last minute or so kinda saves it. Like I said, okay background music but I'm not seeking this song out

Sun Is Shining - Axwell ^ Ingrosso - I overall like the vibe of this, it's pretty uplifting but there are some big faults for me. I think the first minute and everything inbetween the beat drops are pretty nice but I hate those big beat drops. They come at the expense of a good chorus and it kinda throws off the vibe for me. Also kinda repitiive

All The Things She Said - t.A.T.u - Ok im not ngl this song kinda slapped. The first part was a bit wack but the second part I liked more and it gave me huge female linkin park vibes. They used that catchy chorus a lot which made it a skosh repitive but overall a pretty solid submission. Plus tbh the blonde girl in that video was pretty smoking

Man! I Feel Like A Woman - Shania Twain - I've actually never heard this song before, it's pretty good! The chorus-y section is pretty strong but most of the song is a skosh meh, but they balance out okay. I really like the vocals in this song, that twinge of country brings a bit of playfulness into the song.

Raise Your Glass - P!NK - Ok this is unrelated but dawg, I get it, you've had adversity in your life, but you are not hard. You are not from the streets. You are not "gangsta". Chill out (this is reference to one of the lines and some imagery). In terms of the actual song, it's a good message but it just feels like it's trying to hard to be edgy. I just really don't like this song, the lyrics feel lackluster and I'm not a fan of P!NK's vocals

Mr. Jones - Counting Crows - This feels like the more together version of Torn. I think the vocals and instruments come together so nicely and the chorus is the best from this round. The second half of the song is stronger than the first half, the more upbeat parts of the song are my fav. Very good submission!

Love The Way You Lie - Eminem ft. Rihanna - It's weird, I don't really remember liking this song from the past. I'm not a big Eminem or Rihanna guy but this song is a definite slapper. They complement each other perfectly, and they have distinct but cohesive verses. Thank you for making me revisit this haha. PS megan fox is so fine oml

Unfortunately the person going home is............... tbrown_47. You had the right idea with selecting that song but sadly it didn't resonate with the judges. After a 2nd place finish last round it sucked to see you go my guy. Summer! After a top 3 finish last round you almost totally fumbled the bag with this round. It was only a .25 difference between you and tbrown so put your best foot forward next round. There was a three way tie for 3rd to last place and I'm not giving all of them low placements
