Super Smash Bros. 30 Day Challenge (Day 8)

Jun 4, 2014 by Icarus_Mark
1 week into the challenge and already only 2 of us have managed to tackle all 7 days so far: myself and Boots.  I do get that people get busy.  Real life comes first.  It’s just a drive for me to keep going forward with this 30-Day Challenge.  Hopefully, I can manage to get all 30 days down so that all you weirdos have something for entertainment for next however many days we have left.  Oh, and there is still no rain because Mother Nature sucks so much that I can’t even begin to fathom how much.  With that, it is time for Day 8.

Day 8 - If you could add anyone to the game, who would you add?

Okay, so I did hear that Namco was helping with the development with this new game coming out, so I figured we’d be seeing Lloyd Irving come and take the stage in this new game.  To be honest, I would love to see him in the game, and he’d be such a good fit to the roster if you prefer to play with swords, not to mention that I loved Tales of Symphonia.  However, there is ONE third-party character that I would not only LOVE to see make it onto the roster, but if somehow they did and I knew about it, my ass would be all up over that game.  If you know my gaming preferences well enough, you can probably guess who it is.  Cue some music.

That character is Sora from the Kingdom Hearts franchise.  For as long as the Kingdom Hearts series has existed, I have always loved the idea of mixing Final Fantasy with Disney, and the storyline of the series makes me fall in love with it so much more.  The soundtrack is amazing, and just everything about it makes me care for characters of the games so much more.  It’s small wonder that I made no hesitation with buying Dream Drop Distance when I found out it was coming out on the Nintendo 3DS.  Looking at Sora himself, yeah he would be more of a sword player with his Keyblade, but he can also cast spells like Thundaga, Balloonga, and Firaga, as well as bring along some of his own moves too, so he would be a very diverse addition to the roster.  Oh, and when it comes to Final Smashes, Sora would literally just own.  He could have his friend Riku join in with him on the Final Smash and rack up some serious damage.

Another way Sora could work, and this goes hand-in-hand with the Riku doing the Final Smash with him, is if, by pressing B-Down, you can switch between Sora and Riku like you could do with Zelda and Sheik in the past or with Charizard, Squirtle, and Ivysaur when you play as Pokemon Trainer in Brawl.  In Dream Drop Distance, you automatically switch between the 2 after a while when they “Drop”, so I can definitely see something like this working.  Can on Smash!  Make Sora, and possibly Riku too, happen!
