Unpopular Opinion

Sep 10, 2022 by FromAWindow
The concept of releasing or listening to a whole album is so overrated. That is too many Fucking songs for me personally to pay attention to or care about and I only end up relistening in my usual rotation like at most 4 or 5 songs from an album.

EPs are FAR superior, only at most 6 songs for me to listen to? And the songs oftentimes are all way different sounding than the others but with the same vibe. That way an idea of what you want to express in your music is concise and not all over the place.

This isn’t for anyone lmao just wanted a space to write this but like idk albums tire me out after a bit bc I need the variety. I get why albums exist and stuff but idk kpop artists and underground indie artists kinda have the right idea of releasing six songs at a time and going to the next project.

But the songs being curated together as a collective experience is also great! Sit down on a cold fall day and listen to Folklore and tell me I’m wrong

Depends on the album, the problem is when it has disposable songs. You can pick up good albums from start to finish, while others have some good songs and the rest is trash.

You should be able to listen to a good album and have it tell you a story.    Unfortunately some albums end up getting to long and there is a one or two duds on the album that make listening to it more difficult.

i fear u spilled. so many artists are okay with dropping mid albums bc they know the stans will pretend there aren’t any skips
