Anyone interested in what happened to me Apr 2, 2016
image~~Apologies for how long it is, but I am explaining all that happened and why I kinda had my "hands full".

*Pics are of the bracelets, around my ankle I had while in my induced coma.*

My last week has been interesting, to say the least. It started on last Wednesday, stayed up like my typical night owl-self; actually was planning to do chores, until I smelled a burning smell. Now I had smelled a burning shoe because someone had gotten it inside the heater a week ago, so I checked and saw my shoe under the heater. That made me think I found the cause of the smell and I went back to my kitchen sink. About 5 minutes later, the smell doubled and it was stinging my nose; I checked over to the side and saw smoke coming from the dryer. I never saw that before, so figured “Well, that isn’t normal” and went over, but I grabbed my thin pair of winter gloves first. After putting them on, I opened the dryer, just to get a nice faceful of smoke, making my eyes sting and more difficult to look at what I was doing.

So a few minutes of panicking later and running to the door to snatch a few seconds of fresh air, I dug my hand into the dryer, trying to see what I was dealing with. When I saw just burnt towels, I decided to toss them into my basket and shove them outside. Instantly turning back around, shutting my door from the basket, my dryer was officially on fire and now another few minutes of panic was occurring, before I grabbed the fire extinguisher. However, I had no fucking idea how to take the safety off nor the actual effect it had with a fire. I sprayed It at the dryer and outside, to see the fire go out—creating calmness about the situation…for two minutes, until the fire re-arising again and my ass freaking the fuck out. I was literally spraying that extinguisher and grabbing more fresh air—outside the door, until there was no more left and then with the fire coming back, for the 4th time, I was like “OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! Why me? Why do I have to deal with this shit? Why couldn’t my brother, so it burnt down and it wasn’t my fault”. I grabbed my phone once finished flipping out—for the third time, trying to call my mom, so I can pass the shit onto her…problem was I couldn’t find the number, to my brother’s school. So I called the best thing I could do; our friend 911.

When they arrived, I had not let the fire burn anything in the house and stay in the dryer; I got the basket outside contained with lovely water, but didn’t feel personally safe doing it in the dryer.  They called the ambulance and they came to see me, while the firefighters went to dryer and neighbors coming outside, to see the lovely reason for all the smoke. I was declining to go to the hospital at first and they were actually about to sign a paper, saying I refused…until they were 3 lines into writing—about 10 minutes outside, when I was feeling like I was going to collapse onto the guy writing the paper. So they brought me to the hospital and I remember a bit, but don’t much because I was more focused on the fact, I couldn’t actually breathe properly; all I remember, is that they were putting something inside me to breathe and I would be out for 24 hours—which lead me into an induced coma.

I woke up suddenly, content to see people…but noticed that had the machine in, as I tried to breathe for myself. So this bitch was flipping out, I guess we can say hyperventilating—ironic because of the ventilator they had to breathe for me, but it’s an issue when you have a machine breathing for you and you can’t stop the initial reaction, to breathe for yourself, after not having to been able to breathe for yourself prior. They got it out, but OMG at how the fuck long it was though and damn, the pain I felt after it was out. The good news of this all though, is I have no interior damage from the fire, so that’s a big plus.

So I got transferred back to my home town, about 5-6 hours I had gotten up. Once back, I was brought into intensive care and well, apparently I was there the whole time prior, from what my best friend explained to me.

I was at the hospital from Wednesday morning (when the fire happened) Till Saturday morning—the 23rd till 26th. I got out on the 26th, walked home and went to see my best friend, when I saw her outside, having a smoke. We chatted a bit and I went inside, then 2 hours later I got another guess… my cousin KizzXxX08 and that was a special surprise. So I got to chill with her until Sunday night.

On Monday, I went for an appointment and I honestly was feeling dreadful. I didn’t get the chance to sleep properly, to not do anything and relax—plus, I hadn’t taken my pumps while having gotten out of the hospital. So when the doctor that was on my case, came to see me…I told her and then a specialist she brought in, that I just felt like someone used a bat and hit me in the chest; they didn’t feel that was normal, after inhaling 15+ minutes of smoke, so they admitted me again, from the 28th and I was initially staying for a physiology respiratory exam. I got to have it the next day and OMG that exam was the definition of hell, after what I just dealt with…like my lungs felt like they were burning.

After having the exam, the doctor I had now was telling me, that she didn’t like the part of the results on a part of my exam because my bronchus seem to have tense and with inflammation, but my blood work showed my Ph level was 55; if you don’t know, that’s oxygen we breathe versus carbon we blow out—basically from what a couple nurses explained and the average is 7.35 to 7.45…being in a fire and having asthma, it’d be much higher than that, but that’s too high. So I stayed there from 28th till the 31st.

And now here we are. I feel a bit better than before, but I’m super tired easily and still have issues at times with breathing.  Although, I definitely have spent more than enough time in the hospital; don’t want to be back, for a long…long…long…long…long while. =)
