I have been offered a potential job as a manager with no one else that has applied...like, I was recommended by the current manager leaving and talked to by her, on the job.
I have asked to get a sign and the last 2 shifts I have done, I have just been over my shift with it being understaffed and the children being half trained.
Randomly tonight, I was thinking about the other job and how it would feel to manage it, when one of the children that was looking for another job (unfortunately the job wasn't looking for more employees now), asked me what would happen if the current manager, at my job right now left or died? Like, who would take her spot?
I mentioned well, she has 2 assistant managers that might, but idk if they would do it.
He then asked if they would then, look at the supervisors (I am labeled under supervisor), which kind of shook me because I was just thinking about the new job, where I would be managing it...
Is this a sign to anyone else or is it just to me?

Honestly Jo, i think if you are offered the potential job as manager you should TAKE IT, if your recommended by the current manager you should probably do it.
i mean your leadership skills are great and look, maybe it will be a good thing for your resume, future jobs highlighting that you were the manager
again if you dont like it you can always quit/apply for new jobs or just go back to a normal posistion.
They seem to be hinting to you that the job is yours if you want it (especially when the outgoing manager has been speaking on your behalf without you even asking)
That is actually where my mentality has been at, throughout my shift I just did, this evening.
I know the only thing that will 100% kill my interest is if they have a major issue with my plans to go to the states to see #KizzBomberv
As I plan to go, for american thanksgiving, for a couple weeks or so.
Besides that, I don't think I would be turned off from the job, if the interview tomorrow goes well.
And thank you for sharing that above Erick because me thinking it and reading my exact thoughts from someone else, helps a lot actually with where my thought process was going. :)
flamingjojo your welcome, me personally i know it would seem daunting and you wouldn't really know like what you'd be able to do/when you would be able to leave, i mean maybe get some more information you know and then make your decision, but i defiantly think it be a good opportunity just career wise and just managerial wise
