Colby Donaldson (Survivor: Australia, Survivor: All-Stars, Survivor: Heroes vs Villains)!
When you mention the name Colby Donaldson to a survivor fan, they might remember him bringing Tina to the end instead of Keith in Australia and subsequently lost to her, or maybe they remember Coach defeating him in a physical challenge in HvV. But does anyone ever stop and think how solid Colby's game was?
In Australia, Colby was a physical asset to his tribe, keeping him from getting a single vote. He also made a pretty bold move after his tribe lost immunity for the third time in a row, if you don't remember, here's a refresher. Jerri and Colby had some mutual romance between each other, and Jerri, after losing the challenge, alienated Tina and Keith, saying that Mitchell, Amber, and Colby were with her. Colby decided to go against that alliance and go with Tina and Keith, forcing a tie and eliminating Mitchell because of him getting previous votes. It obviously was a good strategic move, as those three ended up being the final 3. Getting there, he won 8 out of 10 challenges to get to the final 2, as well as being trusting enough in his alliances at the final 10 to get the opposing tribe to vote him.
I'm not even going to talk about All-Stars, because that season was mixed up with pre-made alliance, and overall was just yucky.
Lastly, in HvV, Colby might have not played the perfect strategic (a certain 'climbing over each other for an idol clue while watching a movie than giving the clue to the other alliance's member' incident comes to mind) or physical game (*cough* Coach Incident *cough*), he did end up being the last hero remaining, which may not seem like a lot, since he was pretty weak, but hey, that strategy worked out for him, so you can't really criticize him there.
Hint for #9: This person originated in a season earlier than All-Stars, and played in HvV.
