The term "POC" (Person of Color) is one racist term and was made to exclude non-whites from white Americans (the concept originated in and primarily associated with America). It refers to Asian-Americans, African-Americans, Native-Americans, etc in that sense.

I see many of you the term on this site and elsewhere without fully knowing its historical connotations and honestly it needs to stop.

minie, the answer is obvious by their race. My point is that POC groups many races under one umbrella. As long as they are not "white", they are considered POC.

i think there's an obsession with categorizing people these days and imo it does more harm than good to lump everyone together and assume they function as a monolith it just continues to allow people to generalize
