I've been watching Survivor since China, and I have to say that this is the LEAST excited I've ever been for a Survivor ever. I find the show has gone downhill a lot - too much. This new twist looks like one of the worst ideas yet though. Seriously? Redemption Island where voted off contestants can come back if they win a whole bunch of challenges?
Now, I can see production doing this one of two ways. One way is where the contestants KNOW that redemption island is in place - I hope this isn't the case - ,or the contestants do NOT know about this twist. The later would be the only acceptable way I think. If contestants know they have to chance to come back once they get voted off then chances are they won't care nearly as much. They'll know they have a chance to come back on; they may not even bother fighting to stay.
Finally, don't get me started on Rob VS Russell. This is THE stupidest idea Survivor has ever come up with, and they've had some bad ones. Seriously, ROB V RUSSELL wasn't even that big in HvV. Actually, on the contrary it was very forced and came off horribly. I mean, if production wanted to do an ex-survivor VS ex-survivor season they have SO many better choices to choose from. Even in HvV alone there were better rivalries than Rob VS Russell.
In the end I will probably watch the season, but I just can't find myself getting excited for it. Maybe it won't suck, but I have a feeling it will. :(
But the players will know off the bat what RI is.
