Actual slurs are directed to people who don't have a choice if you get my meaning. For example, a POC does not choose to be a POC, and that's what makes it a slur. Being GAY however, IS a choice, therefore you are CHOOSING to be called the f word because you CHOSE to be gay. In short, being gay is a choice.
