group games Apr 24, 2021
imageare so 2018 when we still pretended the enabling of pedophilia, micro aggressions, personal attacks, and cheating were okay.

Well, I guess some production and participants still pretend. 🤥

I’m not here to promote any other series or games because that is counter-reductive, but I want to keep my energy consistent for problematic behavior and systems that needs to be reassessed.

If you don’t believe me? Check four of the last five blogs I’ve made from months ago, or check all five so my Christy Smith blog can finally get the attention it deserves!!! But, seriously, I’m not suddenly jumping on a bandwagon. Group games have not been okay for a long while. They're a product of the community this community has created; they just have shinier gloss than the other aspects of this site pre-new moderation.

Anyways, life doesn’t matter because Michelle Schubert was released from quarantine. This is my final nail in the coffin.

silent, but outspoken; a christy smith retrospective Oct 18, 2020
imageIt’s February 2003. Many of you are not born. Some of you wish you weren’t. Nevertheless, something emerged from the shadows to change the course of our lives and the show we pretend to love; Survivor: the Amazon.

Christy Smith, then a 24 year old, first graced our screens. Labeled a “Children’s Adventure Guide”, she did that and then some, my young gays. She gave us an adventure, an adventure through adversity of empowerment. Now, let us follow her thumb and go back in time, to a time when Christy Smith was the greatest understated villain of early Survivor.

**time machine noises**

We start out with a story, that of an underdog. When Christy reveals her status as a deaf woman, the tribe is mixed. Tribemate Heidi Stroebal is quoted as saying the “communication barrier would be a problem”.

To further the underdog narrative, Christy was unable to communicate at night with her tribemates, given the lack of vision to perform sign language. Even the resident IQ-genius Heidi was unable to detect the night motions.

We are groomed to feel sympathy. To feel Christy’s pain. Valid pain at that; however, Christy was not just a victim. She was a villain. A power-hungry villain at that.

When tribemate JoAnna Ward informed her tribe of keeping the immunity idol at camp given her religious beliefs, Smith is quoted as saying the idea was “stupid”.

the virtue signaling Jul 19, 2020
imageon this site is baffling. Casting known predators and shitty people after denouncing others and acting like they’re cast for the drama and entertainment of the game omegaLUL.

tired of it.

imageyour insecurities as a host by restricting freedom of speech, omegaLUL how revealing.

As a host, I value my alumni’s thoughts and always amend the season, mechanics, and hosting itself whether immediately or for the future. My way or the highway goes both ways when you throw that claim out towards players simply asking for you to speak up.

Don’t silence the speakers. When you disappear without explanation, you leave the door for assumptions. If you don’t want assumptions, make your intentions clear. It’s basic theory.

Take this moment as a way for all hosts to improve, not how to silence and handle alumni who are asking you to take a valid stance regarding a long-withstanding plague on our site and community.

When known pedophiles and those accused of predatory actions continue their cyber circle jerks in survivor: insert tropical location here, while players trying to expose this predatory enabling are restricted of their speaking privileges and platforms, that’s where a major issue arises.

the removal Jul 4, 2020
of a pedophile or predatory player should be the host’s job FIRST, not the players.

If I was a player, I’d now personally target the accused or quit the game after seeing the lack of action taken by a host, but it seems some people just don’t follow the same mindset. I have done reflections of my past, and I think I’ve let certain things slip by when they shouldn’t have, but I’m much more aware now.

We have Missy and Elisabeth in IOTI using the Dan situation to better themselves in the game. I think what they did is bad, but they’re playing for money and made it evident they throw morals out when a game and prize are at hand. Whatever criticism they receive post-game is warranted. Production ended up removing Dan, but could’ve removed him sooner or at least actively involved themselves to defuse the situation.

So, yes, I think some fault should be directed towards players for using a predator as a pawn in their games for a virtual $0 and self-congratulatory slap on the back, but the fact hosts are just silent about this issue and not taking a stand shows where their thoughts to this issue lie.

If you’re a host, and you don’t stand for this, why don’t you use the blogs or your VL’s to make a stance about this. Maybe you already have, and if so, thank you. Me being 15,16,17 on this site with people in their mid-20s made every other season a maze of avoiding perverts and incels who can’t get romance in their real lives. It’s not always a fun way to balance Love Island and Survivor in the same game, different series.
