For the past few hours, I had nothing to do, so I decided to make a chart of who was recruited and who applied for Big Brother from seasons 8 - 17. I was going to do every single season, but as I got to the earlier seasons, there were less and less sources and eventually no sources as all. I couldn't find a single article for BB6.
Some interesting things I learned from this:
- BB15 is one of the most applicant heavy seasons in the history of the show, which was really shocking to me. I expected people like Aaryn, Gina Marie, Jeremy, etc. to be recruits, but I was wrong.
- The winner of the season is usually an applicant. BB11 & 12 are the only exceptions to this. Applicants almost always do profoundly better than recruits in any given season.
- Tons of the cast members had originally been applicants or recruits for Survivor or Amazing Race, but came to Big Brother because the producers of the other shows didn't find them fit for their shows, but great for BB. (Some examples: Caleb Reynolds, David Girton, Devin Shephard)
I probably made some mistakes in the chart, so if you find one feel free to point it out to me so I can fix it. Also, I may have a bit of misinformation on the chart, since i'm not entirely sure if all my sources were 100% reliable.
