I remember growing up and hearing Linkin Park songs on the radio and not knowing exactly who the artist was. Only having dial up, I was never able to search up their music so I could only listen to their CDs. After my family and I saw the transformers movie, I was about 8, we heard the Linkin Park song at the end of the movie and my mom said, "I have to go get the new Linkin Park album."
I didn't know what that band was until I heard the music on the CD and then it hit me who they were. I fell in love. Years later when we finally upgraded from dial up, I spent so much time listening to their music on YouTube. It didn't stop me from buying the CDs though.
While I grew up and went through some hard times with myself and others, I could always listen to Linkin Park to make me feel comfort. The lyrics where the therapeutic words that my mind needed to hear. Not to mention, the sound was just blissful. Knowing that the lead singer, Chester Bennington, has passed because of awful depression that drove him over the edge, is awful. My heart hurts today for his family, friends, all of the fans and him. I will miss you so much Chester. May you find peace somewhere new and in the afterlife with all the other great musicians.
