True Blood Season 7

0 jmain14, Aug 17, 2014

Is nearing it's end, and it's been a pretty lackluster final season. The only good storylines thus far are the ones with Sarah/Eric/Pam/Jessica.
Ginger (Tara Buck) has been with the show since the first season in a recurring role, appearing in about 2-3 episodes per season. Then for the final season, she was promoted to a regular, giving me hope that they'd develop her some more. However, she's appeared in 2/8 episodes this season, and has basically proven that they had no reason to promote her rather than them probably feeling bad because it's the last season.
Bill (Stephen Moyer)'s story with the Hep-V has been decent thus far, but the useless flashbacks are completely unnecessary and is taking time away from other characters' potential (such as Ginger).
Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire) was also promoted to a regular this season after joining in a recurring role Season 6. She appeared in the first five episodes of the season and then randomly disappeared and they have not brought her up in any storyline since. She has been a letdown this season, besides being freed by Eric, she hasn't done anything, and I doubt they'll bring her back now.
Tara (Rutina Wesley) Okay, I think this one pissed me off the most. First of all, Tara was killed off in the first five minutes of the season premiere, being one of the core six, being a regular since Season 1. Her storyline with Lettie Mae was annoying, and the resolution given to us wasn't extraordinary, and now we've probably seen the last of Tara as well, as no loose ends remain with her.
As for the arcs I've liked:
Sarah (Anna Camp) Sarah's story has been my favorite this season, and I almost begun to feel sorry for her, but then I realized, hey, she brought this upon herself by trying to kill off people with much higher powers. Also, her being the cure was something that I did NOT see coming, and I look forward to seeing what happens with her.
Hoyt (Jim Parrack) I was so glad they brought him back for the last season. He was a regular for the first five seasons but he always seemed kind of secondary to me, but now they're actually giving him a story and him/Jessica may get back together! :D
True Blood did NOT stay #TruetotheEnd like the motto says, but #BadtotheEnd. Unless these final two episodes will wrap up everything nicely (which it is highly likely they WON'T), it has been a good series.
7x09 airs tonight @9/8c on HBO
The series finale airs next Sunday @9/8c on HBO.
