6. April "Busto" Lewis
Although I truly love every member of the Nerd Herd, I have to put this bitch dead last. When I thought about every member of the Nerd Herd, each of them brought something to the table. April is definitely no exception. In fact, she brought more hilarity and personality than most of the others. So why do I rank her dead last? I'll get to that later. But for now let's focus on April's positives, of which there are many.
In the first week of Big Brother 6, I wasn't quite sure what to think of April. Before the two main alliances formed, she was probably the biggest gossiper, and she would never stop running her mouth. This wasn't necessarily a bad thing, I just was waiting to see what she would do with it. But after the alliances formed, April became one of the most hilarious houseguests of all time. I loved everything about her. Her voice, the fact that she always talked about her husband, the fact that she looked way older than she really was, everything about her was just so perfect and hilarious. Then when hurricane Howie or whatever the fuck he called himself tried to come April and he bullied her to tears, I felt so bad for her and was #TeamApril more than ever. She was just so quirky and southern and old-looking I was in love and really wanted her to make finals. She even managed to win an HOH and a POV in the same week, ensuring James's eviction and since I hated James I was so happy for her. Basically April was becoming one of my favorite houseguests ever.
Until her final week in the house came, when my opinion of her soured and she nearly ruined all the good will I had towards her.
It was the latter half of week 9. Howie had just been evicted and tensions were still high in the Big Brother house even though it was the final 4 by that point when usually all the drama has been sucked out of the game. But not this time. Janelle won Head of Household, which signaled doom for one of the three remaining members of the Nerd Herd. I was sad of course, but that's the way the game goes. The final 4 POV is the most important one in the game, and whoever won it would decide who would stay and who would go. Nobody was evicting Maggie, so it was a battle between April and Ivette. Ivette won the final 4 POV, basically guaranteeing April's eviction, and that's when I started to hate April.
Janelle had been picked as America's Favorite once again and she got to go to the VMA's or some awards show I really don't remember which one it was. That was the last straw for April, who was sick and tired of the fact that America didn't love her because she had insecurities or something I guess. She then decided to play the victim card and blamed IVETTE for everything she had done in the house. She and Ivette got into a big fight, and I was totally #TeamIvette on this one.
