367. Super Smash Brothers Demo (3DS)

1 coolnarwhal88, Sep 19, 2014

At last, the Super Smash Bros. 3DS demo has been released to the public! Well, if we are to be technical, it's been released to all of those Club Nintendo Platinum folks, but unfortunately, I'm not one of 'em.
So, first off, for all of you 3DS owners, GO AND DOWNLOAD THE DEMO! It's free, entertaining, and enough to keep the superfans from going on a Smash Bros. frenzy. It does take up a lot of space, but it's definitely worth it.
As expected the game doesn't offer very much. Just the basics of the game and nothing else. You can only play 2-minute stock mode with one map (Battlefield), but there's still like five characters to play with or against: Mario, Link, Pikachu, Mega Man, and Villager.
Though I've already made my decision that I will ONLY buy the Wii U version (being the frugal person I am...not), I've got to say that the 3DS version is REALLY good for what it's worth. The graphics are great, the characters' actions look very smooth, and the game really has just as much as the Wii U version will. I wish I could've played more levels and more characters but obviously Nintendo is holding off because, well, it IS just a demo.
Now let's talk about Mega Man and Villager.
Villager is probably my favorite of the five given characters in this game. He has a lot of great moves. My favorite move is when he/she uses the gyroid as a missile and rides around on it. Just don't ride the gyroid off the map, LOL. I also like  his/her skin varieties. In the demo, you have four different alternate Villagers to play as. They all look very unique from one another and look like they came right out of New Leaf (well, duh). His final smash was pretty cool. It was basically the exact same as Kirby's, just a tiny difference. Tom Nook and the twins build a house around the targetted character, and then the character takes a lot of damage as the house shakes around, and gets blasted away into oblivion.
Mega Man, is just "meh"-ga, man.
Like he is OKAY, but I dunno, he's just...alright, LOL. I guess it's better than him being overpowered. His moves are just kind of generic and not very interesting. I do really like his final smash. Basically, he creates this black hole of sorts, sucks a character in, then he activates his different "modes" or whatever and blasts the character out of the black hole. Yeah, I'm not familiar with Mega Man games but the final smash looked pretty cool at least. It's basically the same final smash as Kirby's and Villager's, which is kind of lame, but oh well.
So, yeah. Demo was pretty cool. I still think I'm just going to hold out 'til Wii U version, but I think this one is just as good for those who either don't have a Wii U yet or just don't feel like paying the extra $20.
