Week 8 Photoshoot

Welcome back models to your eighth photoshoot of the season and to the SEMI FINALS congratulations! Last photoshoot we sadly said goodbye to Violet Chachki who sadly got eliminated in the quarter finals just missing out on the top 4! This week is by far going to be the most brutal and I have no idea who will just miss out on the finale because you are all so talented! Anyways, let’s get to this weeks photoshoot shall we?!

Photoshoot #1: “Reflection”

Reflection can be defined as: “a serious thought or consideration.”

So for this theme I want you to present to me and the judges a shot of you taking a step back for a second and thinking about your past mistakes or something that has caused you pain in the past. Reflect on what went wrong and really show us the pain and vulnerability when you’re reflecting! There should be a sense of innocence to your shot but still a beauty within that breaks through the pain!

Photoshoot #2: “Determination”

Determination can be defined as: “having made a firm decision and being resolved not to change it.”

So now that you have showed us your vulnerable side and reflected, it’s time to move on to bigger and better things like winning Rubes Next Top Model! For this theme I want you to present to me and the judges a shot where you are determined to make it to the finale! You can take this to so many different places we just need to see that drive and passion in your eyes and body that makes us say “you deserve to be at the finale!”

I would like to say a huge congratulations to all of you for making it to the semi finals and the top 4!!! You have all done an amazing job in this competition and I couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of you with what you’ve presented each week it has been a really great first cycle! BUT I must ask...

- Why do you deserve to make the finale?!

Also, this week there will be NO elimination challenge! Whoever is scored lowest this week will be automatically eliminated and we will have our final 3! So it is crucial for you to bring your absolute BEST to this semi finals!

If you guys watched Asian’s Next Top Model cycle 2 you would have noticed that I’ve always been one to psych myself out. During that moment it all felt so unreal because I wondered what the judges saw in me and I still wonder about it daily because of all the criticisms and cyberbullying I’ve had to go through. I overthink things by trying to please everyone, but I found out that when I let things go and present myself at my rawest state I excel. This is me showing my inner vulnerability without any fear to seem weak because after all we are all human beings… unique in our own different ways.

With this shot I’m trying to show you guys that I can bring classy to this competition, not only unique or freaky. By proving to everyone how versatile of a model I am. When picking this shot I did not hesitate because although I look smaller and skinnier I’m not letting that define who I am! Yes I’m 5’9 and skinny but modelling is NOT about your body, it’s about your soul and the concept you’re trying to get across. With the use of my eyes I’m creating a deep stare and the openness of my body language. Because I truly believe that I’ve put in work in this competition and listened to critiques and applied them weekly.

When we looking back in the past, there Will always something that hit us again. Either it is sad or angry moment and it is shown in the picture by the reflection of the sun. The sun didnt reflect on me fully because I recover from half of it and still trying to be better person now

In this shot I am thinking of how one of my past relationships has really shaped my life for the worse when it comes to trusting and fully opening up to someone else again.

In this shot I know I exude confidence! I wanted to be looking right at you to let you all know I am here and determined to make it to the finale and win it all!!!!!

Taylor: I Know I deserve to be in that finale and I don’t mean that in a cocky way or that I am superior to my fellow contestants but I feel like my Journey here has been great! I was consistent in placing in the top until I landed in the bottom during the top 6 but came back even stronger from the experience and ended up winning the top 5 POTW! I have shown the world I can be an entertainer of the year consistently but now I want to show the world I can be RNTM And slay the runways!!!

I deserve to make it to the final because I've showed to everyone that I'm able to grow and listen to critiques. I'm not as consistent as Garrett in placements, but I've proved that when I want the top badly I go out with a bang. This competition has allowed me to explore my emotions more without trying to overthink things too much and just go with the flow.

I feel like this shot is an excellent representation of "Reflection," it's obvious I am in deep thought here in this shot. If I had to reflect on my time here, I am not too pleased with it personally because I know I am capable of being in the top each week, but if given a chance to compete in the final, that's all I need to show you what I am capable of unleashing.

Photoshoot 2) "Determination"

Whether my fellow models agree or not, despite many believing I am one of the best models here, I have walked into each week expecting the worse but hoping for the best. I kicked the competition off with a fantastic placement but later began falling lower and lower. I am incredibly determined to do whatever it takes to make it to the finale. If I had to compare my journey here in this competition, it would be one big hill/mountain climbing each week. I am having low lows and high highs, and I am not going to reach the top of it until I am the last model standing.
