She drowned, and no one could revive her by the time she was finally found. This lead to Rainer developing a traumatic fear that he would never grow out of. The rest of his life spent with his father was fairly normal, although he rebelled against the norm as often as possible in protest to such an average life. He kept the piercings (though he tries not to wear them when working).

He wants to help in this program as much as he can since he loves serving justice just be weary with him since 1 wrong move and you might get a bullet in the knee or other places.
