The game is set in three phases:
1. Phase 1:
- Phase 1 last from final 16 to final 7. In phase 1 you will be asked to post a single song
based off a predetermined theme for the round.
- In phase 1, there will be the twist of a returning player(s) to compete back into JUSSC
and will be in the running to win the title and T prize.
- There will be an additional twist of IMMUNITY for ALL of phase 1. If you are the
winner of round 1, then for round 2 you will gain immunity- and so on. This twist
occurs until phase 1 ends. This means the last time immunity will be a thing is the final
7.
2. Phase 2:
- Phase 2 last from the final 6 to the final 4.
- In phase 2, each remaining contestant will be required to post two songs each round.
These two songs will be determined by a theme that correlates with each other.
3. Phase 3/Finale:
- Phase 3 of the game is the finale. Three contestants will remain and compete one last
time to achieve the crown.
- Phase 3 will consist of posting three songs each, once again to fit a predetermined
theme of the round.
- As an additional piece of information, on top of the regular round rankings based off
the songs… your progress will be tracked across the season. An additional factor of your
overall average placement will be taken into consideration, and will be an extra
variable in deciding your overall placement for the round to determine the winner. To
see how this will work, and how important it can be to place well… look at the
season 1 finale!
Round Specific Rules:
1. Deadlines:
- Each round, you will have 24 hours to post your required song(s). If you fail to do so,
you will automatically be ranked at the bottom and will go home.
- If more than one contestant fails to post, it will be determined randomly through
random.org which contestant is eliminated.
- If a contestant does post after the deadline, it will be up to the panel of judges to
decide whether it is a DQ or if they will suffer penalty points for the week. What will
be factored into this decision is point in the competition, and previous posting record.
2. Judging:
- To determine the round winner, there will be a process to gather every judges
opinion for a consensus loser.
- Each judge will rank the songs (1-amount of songs posted). From there, we will
average the judges rankings to find an official round ranking of the contestants. The
contestant at the bottom of the round ranking will be eliminated.
- Results will be posted in a goal timeframe of 24 hours, but on occasion may take up
to 48 hours! If we miss the 48 hour deadline please be patient, we will ALWAYS try to
get it in that timeframe but we do have a life and the things can happen to delay.
Remember - ranking, commenting, averaging, and consolidating the information for
each results show is a lot of work and can take some time!
3. Themes:
- Each round will have a specific theme, which will bring specific guidelines and
possible twist to the round. Contestants are expected to follow the guidelines when
choosing their song.
- If we don’t feel your song theme works will with the theme, we will notify you and
ask you to post a different song.
4. Songs:
- Not only can you not post any song previously used in season 2… contestants will not
be allowed to post any songs from ANY previous season (unless the guidelines
specifically say so). We are in the process of creating a list where you can control-find
if the song has been used for convenience.
- If we catch that you used a song from Season 1 or that it has been previously used in
the current season we will do our best to notify you, but ultimately it is up to you as the
contestant to double check.
5. Twists:
- Throughout the season, there are pre-planned twist that will occur throughout the
season. These will be held confidential until the time is ready for the game!
Have fun with the competition! We are hoping for this to be an enjoyable experience for all parties involved! :)
*Rules are subject to change if essential. If there is a rule change, it will be to incorporate fairness that the judges might have overlooked. Any decision that will be made, will be transparent and will be open to a discussion if need be.
