Lucky Blue Smith - Once Upon a Time

Lizzo Jefferson - The Princess & The Pea.

The Princess and the Pea is a well known fairytale about a Queen testing a young princess by placing a single pea under layers and layers of mattress. The girl was able to prove her princess-status because she was unable to sleep due to her feeling the lump of the pea under her mattresses. (Flawed logic, but fairytales are weird).

Lizzo here is the Princess. She's lying on her bed but still awake because of that stupid pea!

Shaun Ross - The Evil Queen

The Evil Queen is a classic fairy tale character portrayed in nearly every story and folk tale since the beginning of time. I wanted to create a modernized image, which displays the queen in a different light using more bright and tonal colours to bring the idea to life. I feel this photo is edgy whilst still fitting with my brand and creating a binary with both gender, time and the context of the story.

royal weddings is a series of books in the Disney Princess franchise that focused on specific weddings by various disney princesses. for my inspiration, i went with the classic fairy tale cinderella! in my photoshoot, i wanted to take a model-eque and artistic approach to the theme. in the picture, the gown is decorated in the flower appliques that are representative of the flower of bouquet's present in the wedding.

I have chosen to portray the story in which sleeping beauty is based off of, The sun, moon, and Talia. I believe Lenox embodies Talia in this shot. What’s not seen or heard of Talia is how vulnerable she was that entire time. She could’ve been injured or hurt permanently and was permanently changed as a king from a different kingdom took her virginity and impregnated her with twins while no one knew til it was too late. I think this shot very much captures the vulnerable state in which Talia was in. It incapsulates everything that she was.

No one's neck's as incredibly thick as Gaston's”

Gaston is known for basically being the cocky asshole of the fairy tale known as Beauty & the Beast. He was extremely entitled and felt that Belle should have been with him, whether she wanted to or not. Eventually, he did get what was coming to him and Belle ended up with the person that she actually wanted to be with, the Beast.

I feel like this photo exudes Gaston energy. From the clothing to the posture and even the facial expression, this just seems like the kind of cocky asshole that everyone loves to hate.

i chose the character of the angel from the eponymous fairy tale, "the angel." in the story, the angel journeys around the earth with a presently deceased child, with the angel's intent to escort him to heaven. they venture through rural and urban-areas, with the latter being represented in the photo above.

Gigi Hadid

My look for this challenge comes from a place of two inspirations. I was only gonna do one, however I wasn’t sure if real characters counted even though they are technically not real at the same time. But my inspiration for this photo originally came from the inspiration of Violet Beauregard from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Specifically after she turns blue from the chewing gum.

I think the hair and her skin tone obviously makes it relate to me.Violet here.

And upon closer inspection this photo also made me think of an animated character in Ms. Velma Dinkley from The Scooby Doo franchise. This reminds me of Velma from the orange clothes to the hair style as well as the facial expression, which reads more serious, which is Velmas role on the team as the more serious and intellectual type.

I chose to do Robin Hood because I Respected what he did , he was like a vigilante helping the poor , with my shot I kind of wanted to modernize him , I wanted to portray how he would’ve looked like had he lived in this life , even though I modernized him I still wanted to make it fashionable so that I still look like a model , which I think I did

Photoshoot #9

"Parasite"

Hello Top 9! We are spicing things of once again with another taste of South Korea by showing you how good they are with films. In the recently concluded 92nd Academy Awards, the best picture winner is none other than the South Korean film "Parasite" making history by being the first film to be in a non-english language.

Parasite is a 2019 South Korean black comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho. The film outlines how the working class are forced into conflict against one another, fighting for scraps, while families like the Parks live a comfortable life, fueled by the labor of the many individuals working beneath them.

For your photoshoot this week, your goal is to capture the tone of the movie, its characteristics, the symbolisms, etc. If you have watched the movie, this might be your lucky day. If not then watch it or if you don't have lot of time, watch the trailer and read the synopsis, reviews etc. But I assure you, if you will be watching it, there will be no time wasted as this is very much a masterpiece.

To allot you more time (if you might want to watch it), the deadline for this shoot is 36 hours instead of 24. So I wish you all goodluck!

Nice connection made and it certainly exudes the Gaston energy! It comes off as cocky and over confident.

This I think could have been a stronger shot if it didn’t have a weird line and filter over it. Still, I appreciate you taking a deeper dive into the story.

This is a cute play on the Princess and the Pea. Very sultry and I love the overall look. I wish it was less blurry/grainy though.
