Welcome to your next challenge, Code Breakers.
In this challenge there are 5 locks that must be opened for each team. In order to open a lock, players must find a 4 digit code. Each code will be found by a pair of players, so 5 pairs will participate in this challenge.
That means Blue team, all 10 players must play.
Red Team, all 9 players will play and 1 of you must go twice.
Gray Team, all 7 players will play and 3 of you must go twice.
No pair can run this challenge more than once so for red and gray you must mix and match.
When a pair chooses to play, they will BOTH mail me they wish to do so. Multiple pairs can play at once.
In this challenge, I will provide you a 12x12 grid. In each square of the grid is a number and a direction (such as 6 UP). In the example from the square that says 6 UP you would go to the square that is 6 spaces ABOVE that square. Surrounding the grid in each row and column is a 2 digit number which is half of the code needed to open the lock.
Each individual in a pair will be given the chart AND a starting direction for each of you. You will be given an initial number and direction. Based on the direction you get will tell you where to start on the chart. If your initial direction is up then you will begin at the bottom of the grid (in the same row as all the numbers) but you will not know which column you start. You must follow the directions until it leads you to your 2-digit number. Now how will you know if you found the correct one? Including the first move you are mailed, if you land on a 2 digit number on the 15TH MOVE then you have found your correct number.
When the chart is mailed to you along with your 1st move your time will begin. When both players find their number they must both mail me the 4 DIGIT CODE with the player whose username is alphabetically higher (closer to A) being the first 2 digits and the next player's number being the last 2 digits.
There will be a 2 hour time limit to each run. All 5 codes use different boards so you will not be able to help your teammates. If a team does not finish in the 2 hours, their recorded time will EITHER be 2 hours or the slowest finish time plus one hour (whichever is higher). The team who has the fastest average time will win this challenge and earn safety from the Gulag.
I will post an example board in the images.
Throughout the challenge I will also update who has played for each team on which board.
Players will have until 9:30 pm est TOMORROW (Saturday) to play or they DQ (slowest time plus TWO HOURS)
Any questions?
