Welcome to tonight's LIVE Face Off.

Tonight you will be playing Blokus.

This Face Off is based off of the abstract strategy board game, Blokus.  Both matchups will occur on the same 20x20 board and occur together.  Each individual will have 21 differently shaped pieces (shown in link below).  Players will alternate turns placing one of their pieces on the board. 

For the 1st move, each player has to place a piece so it is in their corner square (each person starts in their own corner).  Every subsequent move has players place another of their pieces down connecting from one of their pieces on the board.  However, players cannot have the edges of their pieces touch each other.  Instead, the pieces must be connected by corner-to-corner contact.  An example of a valid and invalid move is posted in the link below (with the pieces):

This game will continue until each player has made every possible move they can.  When a player cannot make a move or does not make a valid move within the time limit of 2 minutes, then they are simply skipped for that turn.  NOTE: Each person will have TWO MINUTES to make their move.  If their move is posted and is 3 minutes or more AT ALL TIMES it is deemed a missed turn.  If at ANY POINT it is within 2 minutes you are good.

Since this Face Off can take awhile, if the person before you makes their move and you see it is your turn, you DO NOT have to wait for me to say it is your turn, you can immediately post your move.  Your 2 minutes time limit will only start once I say it is your turn.

The game ends when all 4 players either place all their pieces down or cannot make any moves.  When the game is over a player's score will be the number of squares on the 20x20 grid (400 in total) that they have their colored piece on.  In addition, if a player places all their pieces down they earn an additional 15 bonus points.  If a player places all their pieces down AND the last piece they play is the single square (Piece 1) then they earn 20 additional bonus points INSTEAD of the 15.

In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be whoever placed their last piece in the most recent round (each round is once everyone has made a move).  If that is tied there will be a tiebreaker round incorporating the current board.

Since Gaiaphagee did not vote at a previous Face Off vote, he will have a penalty in this game.  His penalty is that in the 1st round his turn will be skipped meaning one turn will occur where he automatically places no pieces down.
