Though there's a general rule in other forums I go to, the number 1 rule of becoming a Mod?  Don't ask to become one.

Mods need to be online lots to deal with emergency situations, things like porn posting and creepiness to kids need to be dealt with immediately, and temp bannings can deal with that, which can then be further discussed by representatives after

Mods should not be an on site user, they bring their own personal views forward, even if they say they will be fair their personal opinion will always be factored into decisions, any mods need to be off site and ones coming with no previous opinions, there would only need to be one or two off site mods

I think I could be a good mod, because I'm generally good at being diplomatic, but I absolutely would never want to, personally!  I enjoy playing games on this site, and I think being a mod would take away all the fun, but maybe that's just me!
