Is completely logical and even strategic as long as you dont live in a swing state.
Voting third party and helping push them towards 5% national viability could fundementally change U.S politics. Voting third party is not a vote for Trump UNLESS you live in a swing state.
If you live in a solid red/solid blue state then voting third party is the strategic move for Bernie supporters to make. Period.
davelooney if you vote third party in a swing state then you may help Trump win. If your state is going to be blue/red either way then voting third party helps push the green party to 5% nationally which would make them nationally viable and change the country's political discourse.
I do not see how that is accurate @zakisboss. Voting third party will probably help Trump win regardless of the state you reside in, and especially if you're from a staunchly liberal/conservative state.
If a red state is going to be red regardless and you consider yourself progressive then voting for Biden is pointless. Because Trump will win that state and that state's electoral college regardless.
A third party needs 5% nationally to become viable and have a significant voice in future elections.
If you live in a red state and vote third party, you help push that party towards 5% while also not having an impact on the Biden/Trump outcome (because that state is going to sway Trump regardless of your vote)
