If people are nice, they will plus your blogs (the check mark) and depending on their color level, you will get positive points. If people are rude, they will neg your blogs (the x mark) and depending on their color level, points will be taken away. The points don't hurt or help you in any way, so don't worry about it. After a day has passed, the total number of points you get are added up by the system, and you get a small bit of money (T's) based on if you got a certain number.
