Today is a victory for LGBT youth.

imageMy friend Andrew who's a senior graduating this year came out as being transgendered a few years ago - I've always supported him and gone to all his drag shows. He's such a genuine person, and a few weeks ago he told me that he was choosing to run for Prom Queen.
I was supportive but in the back of my head never really thought he'd be able to do it - he lives about thirty minutes from me in a town called Davie - which is pretty much a conservative area.

Well guess what...

Tonight Andrew won prom queen! He's such an inspiration doing something that most LGBT kids wouldn't have the courage too. I also give mad props to the student body of his school who voted for him. I think this is great and shows how much our generation is changing and they're willing to look at things more than just from a black and white spectrum.

We haven't won the war - but we've def won this battle.

I wish Andrew the BEST FUCKING NIGHT he deserves it <3
