Top 10 Best Survivor Castaways Reactions to Being Voted Out

May 8, 2014 by trickydicky
Typically when a contestant is eliminated on Survivor, they do not give much away in terms of how they're feeling. Most commonly they will mull what just happened silently to themselves, or maybe add something like nice "nice job guys.. good luck". However, every once in a while a person is voted off and doesn't hold back from vocally expressing how they feel.

These are my top 10 favorite things said by castaways as they were being voted out of Survivor.

10) Sarita White: Survivor Redemption Island "I really wish I had brought my stuff".
Sarita was blindsided just before the merge after her alliance of six was forced to turn on each other and embarrassed herself by admitting how unprepared she was for this to happen. What really made this quote was David's (somewhat ironic) retort of "don't get too cocky". Nice to see some post-vote revealing banter.

9) Shane Powers: Survivor Exile Island "I'm going to have a chocolate ice cream in one minute... ONE MINUTE".
Shane was going through some serious nicotine withdrawal on the island until he was finally voted out by his alliance on Day 36. Always determined to have the upper hand, Shane's expression as he aggressively states the last part of this line is what makes this. As great as ice cream must be after Survivor, I'm sure everyone else was happy to be still going for the million.

8) Sean Rector: Survivor Marquesas "D'OH!"
Sean was one of the most outspoken contestants in the early seasons of Surivivor. After lobbying hard at tribal council to get Kathy to flip over to his side, he was voted out 3-2 in the final five. One would have expected him to be pissed off, but instead his Simpsons shout out brought a smile to my face and earned him a place on this list.

7) Gretchen Cordy: Survivor Borneo "It's me"
This one still manages to pull at my heart string. Gretchen was the top survivalist on the first season and the leader of the Pagong tribe but was voted out by the Tagi alliance in the first tribal council after the merge. This quote said on Season 28 would be no big deal, but on season 1, it was shocking to think that a provider would be eliminated. Gretchen's sad realization that it was truly "game on" was a breakthrough moment in making Survivor the show it is.

6) Steve "Chicken" Morris: Survivor China "DAMN!"
The first boot of Season 15 had the exact reaction I often have when watching one of my favorite contestants get eliminated. I can only imagine how many eliminated contestants are thinking this, but few have been able to express it. Ashley and Sherea's startled reaction really adds to the humor of this one.

5) Greg Buis: Survivor Borneo "noo.... i dont wanna... (whimper whimper)...bye guys (whimper)"
There will never be another Greg on Survivor. The guy was certifiably nuts, famous for his beloved coconut phone. He had no interest in any sort of "game" while providing great entertainment for his tribe mates and viewers alike. His fake crying upon his elimination on Day 24 ensured that his tribe mates would have one more laugh before he left the game.

4) Richard Hatch: Survivor All Stars "I BEEN BAMBOOZLED"
Richard's tribe mates on Survivor All Stars wanted to "prove" that he wasn't as great a Survivor player as everyone made him out to be... to do so they couldn't just vote him out, no it had to be a blindside. On Day 15, he was voted out of Mogo-Mogo over late-comer Ethan. His reaction was a great reminder from the godfather of Survivor that is all a game and in good fun.

3) Andrea Boehlke: Survivor Caramoan "WHAT!? oh.. guys (laughs).. that's good"
Andrea thought she was controlling her alliance and that on Day 33, Brenda would be blindsided. When she discovered that in fact she was the one being targeted. Her reaction was the perfect combination of shock... annoyance.. and begrudging acceptance that all blindsided players go through.

2) Judd Sergeant: Survivor Guatemala "Thanks guys. I hope you all get bit a freaking crocodile. Scumbags"
Judd is the one-timer I would most like to see brought back on Survivor. He was another person who never really made any sense while he was out there, and was an easy person to dislike due to his hot temper and generally being an asshole. His reaction to being blindsided on Day 33 is something all bitter eliminated players should aspire towards.

1) Jamie Newton: Survivor Guatemala "Blindsided. NICE! That's the way you vote somebody out"
It's a 1-2 finish for Season 11 in this. Well said Jamie, well said.
