What is your casting strategy?

Apr 10, 2010 by stormchaser
I'm in two castings right now where there seems to be debate about the best way to go about playing in a casting.

Some people believe it's wisest to keep the inactives around, because they'll die and won't pose as much of a threat in the future.

I, however, am on the opposite side of the argument. To me, the point of playing castings isn't to win (even though it's favorable) but rather to meet people. If you're social and become friends with people in the games, you're much more likely to be successful in future castings and other games.

If you reach the finale, no matter what position you've come in, you've played the game as best you can, and hopefully you're there with four other people you appreciate.

I thought the same, talk and be social. But it hurts you in the end, you will be backstabbed and you will lose.
Play to win.

Except nominated active players are more likely to like you when you save them. Now you have an instant friend! Hopefully they don't suck to talk to.

i agree with you, for me, castings isnt about winning, its about the experience and meeting new people. many people dont agree, but tbh im not arsed, thats the way i play it and im happy with it.

I've just joined the site and have only played in two casting which are both ongoing but IMO if I move on to BB Rookies and Survivor I would want to get rid of the inactives because they are choosing not to play the game the way they should and IMO don't even really care what happens to them.  On the other hand if I know a bunch of the active people are after me and don't like me then it's fair game and I have no use for them so I'd keep the inactives around.

I'm basically saying that it all depends on the situation and which people you are in the casting with.

PLAY TO WIN, no one goes into a COMPETITION to just be there, plus you make friends anyway, trying to win...happy there are people like you who want friends/your no threat so that gets me one step closer to winning. :D

Ive played my fair share of castings, and my idea is to learn your competition, get to know the person before you evict them

I try to vote for those that are likely to be a threat if they survive the nomination, e.g. they're lurking online at the same time as me and could stop me from getting a key.
So far I've not broken my word that I won't vote for someone.
