konohavillage1 I wasn't mad at protesters...I was mad at looters and rioters. I have nothing against anyone who protests anything in a peaceful way. When people started rioting and looting innocent stores and mom and pop shops just to be dicks...yes I have an issue with that. Unfortunately, those people used the protests to conduct that sort of behavior, but I don't blame the people protesting in a respectful way for the actions of the others. Just like all police shouldn't be deemed "bad" or "corrupt" because of the actions of a few.
I don't think you'll ever see it in the same way I do, and I respect your opinion on viewing it differently, but I also don't think my opinion or views on it is any less valid because we differ.
karmasutra if you had simply said something like "its sad that people feel so powerless that they have to steal and destroy when we the people are wronged," or something along those lines. But you used very coded language, tried to specify the minorities involved (and then it came out later that a lot of white supremacists were on the ground during those riots setting the fires and stealing), and you completely glossed over the end fact that the riots are the language of the unheard and they happened because we as a people are tired of state sanctioned violence.
You still seem more worried about "Respectful protest" instead of the fact that the police are playing judge, jury, and executioner. Why cant the cops respectfully perform their duties? Why do the cops have a reputation of being just dicks? It's wild that you try to separate the bad cops from the "good" ones who are complicit and keep that blue wall up to protect the bad ones.
konohavillage1 I just think it is either ignorance or something, because police officers across the entire country are not unified completely. I'm from the midwest, and I know several officers not only in the area I work (myself included) but throughout many different regions in the midwest who had publicly come out against the actions of what the officers in Wisconsin did. Like I said, I'm not getting into a big debate on this all over again, if you ever want to talk about this, with an open mind from the other side, just as I have an open mind, you know where to find me
