From beggining and I feel like they missed a cool oportunity to have Brock and Misty get one of the Indigo initials. To me I feel Misty should have gotten Bulbasaur, Bulbasaur was mad at her for hiting Oddish, so after she apologized to Oddish and after Bulbasaur saved Oddish, Misty should have been the one to help Bulbasaur make it to safety and that would make Bulbasaur appreciate Misty and want to be by her side. Charmander should have been Brock's, even Ash said it, he was the one who saved him and who clearly worried and cared for him the most. I don't know just wish each of them got an initial, with Ash geting Squirtle only

Ash should’ve gotten Charizard simply because Gary had Blastoise
Brock should’ve gotten Squirtle and that way a theme of having the Pokémon because strong against your primary typing (bulbasaur beating water types and squirtle beating rock types, also blastoise beating charizard) is formed
Though I know the context of the episodes is different but like I feel like thematically speaking this would make more sense
MrBird I agree and I was gonna say that after I watched the Bulbasaur episode, but then I saw how much of a bond Brock got with Charmander and I just wish he got him. That being said I do wish Misty had gotten the damned Oddish at least lol I don't know I hope we get an episode or two where Misty and Brock catch pokemons themselves. I'm heading to the Squirtle episode
