I am so annoyed that all the items in the shops right now are currently sold out. Is there anyway around this?!

you have to be at their shop pages when the items are being sold :P
the 1T$ designs are "multi-gifting" (the shop owners post and 5 people gift the items to specific people) so you won't get those unless you are super fast and refresh as soon as it's posted.
So I guess you only have access to the "public" items which are sold for 400-1000T$. Just keep playing, you'll get designs eventually lal
