Well i havent done very well so far but i am hoping to keep playing and getting better. I have already started making friends and alliances like i wanted but i hope to make more.

My suggestion is don't make alliances just be everyone's friend.
rohan is right. i have found that if i end up with one or 2 really good allies and stay loyal, i statistically make final 3 more often. in our game it seemed you were talking to lots of people trying to balance lots of alliances which is probably why you went.
usually, i don't even bother sending pms and i just wait for them to come to me haha.
