Do you think a shy kid like me can force his way through a public speaking class or is it a bad idea to even go down that route

You totally can! Honestly i get how you feel because I despise public speaking and would be terrified to do a class like that but Its good to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Sometimes the most rewarding things can be the ones that are the most challenging.
Just try and remember that yeah it totally can be nervewracking, but what I've found when I or others are giving speeches is that most people hardly even pay a ton of attention because they are nervous themselves. Plus theyre all in the same boat as you and will be sympathetic towards you.. Everybody wants you to succeed and they wont judge small errors that you make. Also I recommend looking at a wall instead of direct eye contact(or if its online maybe try closing the zoom tab and staring at some tab on ur computer when u give a speech). It sucks but you can get through it and it may even help you be less shy doobee
Memphis_Grizzlies I dont have to go down that path but I rather have a degree in public service where if I want I can change my career path rather than getting certified in Addiction Counseling like its somthing I want to do but not forever
