TYSM FOR TRYING TO HELP

Oct 8, 2017 by alanb1
But omg I figured it out okay here lemme copy and paste the problem and explain cuz I'm ur all dying to understand how.

IF THE ODDS OF ROLLING A 6 ON ONE DIE IS 1/6 AND THE ODDS OF ROLLING A SIX ON ANOTHER DIE IS 1/2 WHAT R THE ODDS OF ROLLING A SIX

Ok so the odds of getting a 6 from either die cuz the die used was not specified is the AVERAGE OF THE TWO FUCKING DIE. SO ITS LEGIT JUST 1/2 PLUS 1/6 DIVIDED BY 2.

wasn't sure if this was right at first but then I found the probabilities of the others (1-5) by doing 1/6 plus 1/5 divided by 2 ok r u with me and then I got .1833333 right and the ACTUAL problem asks for the average value you'd get by rolling any die at any time which is 4 ok that's kinda complicated but ya when I plug in all those values and find the average i got 4 so YEEEY

TDLR FIND THE AVERAGE SO 1/6 + 1/2 DIVIDED BY 2 IS 1/3

ty for trying to help that was very nice of all of u

Okay but if rolling one dies average is 1/2 how the fuck can the odds get worse if you just add another dice and it has to be rolled once. alanb1
