Has gotten out of hand. My friends went down to protest for george floyd. And swat is literally shooting tear gas at peaceful protesters and shooting rubber bullets that can seriously maim or injure people.
And that's not even mentioning how out of hand some people got being oppressed by the cops. People have begun looting. People are taking advantage of this protest and are acting out. They are stealing, starting fires and things are escalating everywhere. I dont exactly know how to feel right now. People have burned down police stations, liquor stores, supermarkets like Target and Wal-mart. It's very saddening thinking of everyone's situations during this time.
My friend actually called me crying after he got home from the protest and told me about his experience. We had a nice cry over the phone together. My heart goes out to GeorgeFloyd, the people of Minneapolis, the protesters, the cops (yes the good and the bad - people need to blame the system and corrupt cops; not all) and even these assholes who have taken what was supposed to be a protest/memorial for George Floyd and took advantage of this time to destroy their own communities by burning down the very establishments they need to get their essentials. Now people have to drive way out of their way to make sure they can support their Families.
I'm just completely confused and frustrated with all people in general. I live so close to everything that is happening and I'm just very bothered rn. Cant sleep and I can't shake this feeling in my gut. I feel physically sick :[

It was bound to happen. Years and years of peaceful protests .. kneeling still no change? And the president wants to make threats? And people are jobless due to COVID? It was bound to happen. This is a revolution and all people are about to turn on the government.
Don't be scared this is still nothing compared to the last such as the civil war or the world war. But don't expect this to go away by tomorrow either.

I understand people are upset rollingderp but this protest was supposed to be a Memorial for George Floyd. And it turned into riots. Its disheartening. And this isn't a isolated protest we are talking about. All across the United States people have begun riots. Things have %110 gotten out of hand.
I understand the protests and all. But, now people are destroying the very communities they live in.
YoundAndReckless but this is YEARS of built-up anger over cops killing black people just because they CAN. these riots started as peaceful protests, until cops started being violent. and the corporations can fucking deal with it they have enough money and insurance. small businesses don't deserve the attacking and i don't condone that, but fuck cops for being racist pigs, and who the fuck cares about a target.

But oh well. Not like it's my Family down in the cities that has to worry about feeding themselves. Not like I have to drive around for 2 or 3 hours checking every store for essentials like toilet paper, etc.. I got everything you all said. I guess I should just worry about myself. Rioters and looters should just continue burning down small businesses. Innocent people are getting robbed and murdered during this time. I should just turn my eyes away right?
