African American can't wear cornrows without being called out for cultural appropriation is bizarre to me because it's not like black ppl are born with cornrows, if a person wants to style their hair how they want then it shouldn't be a problem

What I don’t get is how white people cant wear cornrows or get lip fillers or tans but black ppl can straighten their hair and wear plaid/flannels etc.

because it’s a protective hairstyle for black people and that’s why it’s worn! It’s also something black people have been discriminated against for and is offensive when other people do it for aesthetic purposes and don’t receive the same discrimination
