DON'T TRUST Redletterboy...He falsly says someone negs and even made up a message to what was said to him inwhich the phrase wasn't really said. Alright...in my last CM blog I covered rumors of country music now I'll cover the traditional view of country music and if I get 50-60 veiws I'll do the more pop side of the coin.
Alright, country music isn't how it was in the days of Waylon and Jones but, these aspects still live on in folks like Holly Williams and Jamey Johnson. Now, what made that music the shining point of country music? It's the voice that people grew and love and the voice that separated country music from all other genres of music and is slowly being drifted away. Now don't get me wrong music now is good but, the qualities of past country is missing...In this blog I will state three main issues and then a video...
1. A Pure Lonesome Sound- In the past the singers voice was that of a lonesome sound that seemed to be the root of music and also definied the outlaw music that basilly ran country music or at least had a strong impact. No one did this sound better then Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggrd
2. Steel Guitar- It isn't the fact that steel is missing in modern countyry it is the fact that steel is used to make the music "Fit in" with country music but, the steel doesn't really play he leadno more...I can only hear the beuatiful steel in Jamey Johnson's music which conveys the lonesome sond...most older singers used the steel so the really isn't any way to place an example.
3. The Song- This is another huge aspect because the song makes it all. I know you're thinking that all songs are songs but, not all are "The" song. What I mean by this is the lyrics fit the song and jusify the maning and isn't just there to make sense but, more to make it make more then sense and you only see most songs these days makes song work but, nothing magic...A big example is HE stopped Loving her today by George Jones...now for 2 videos
