The difference between US and European movies..

...is that the Americans are optimistic. They take a shitty situation and turn it into a happy ending. The Europeans start with the happy ending and turn it into a shitty situation, by the end somebody has killed themselves, somebody is injecting heroin into their toes and the audience is thoroughly depressed.
