New Beginnings

Mar 3, 2013 by SarahcCrane
Okay, so I’m Sarah. I love The Hunger Games and Harry Potter. One of my favorite authors is John Green. For now that’s all you need to know, plus I’m just rather bored with typing about myself.
Today's theme is New Beginnings. Now, there is a lot I could talk about for this subject, I could talk about what to do, or what it means to me, etc. etc. But today I’ve decided to tell you a story of my first few days at the school I go to now, which is where I met and became friends with the other girls of Inksplotch5 (a subject I will go into more detail about later, but for now you just need to know that it's our group name).
This is probably one of the days that I remember the most vividly about my life so far. Even though it’s been nearly two years now I can still remember exactly how it felt and even what I was wearing. I think that’s the thing about a new beginning, you remember it as if it were yesterday.
I was running late, clearly my brother’s fault, and I just walked calmly inside. My brother stood by my locker, making sure I had everything and was ready, as I was trying to frantically shove my bags into my locker, since I had finally realized how late I was. Suddenly the English/writing classroom door swung open and, to my horror, the English/writing teacher stepped out while calling my name, quite loudly I might add. I was mortified. I quickly rushed in and sat down in the only available seat and tried to hide for the rest of the class period.
I spent the next two days attempting to sit with the “popular kids” during lunch… that didn’t work out. That’s when I finally met Morgan, we became friends quickly. Both of us had just started at our current school that year and I think that’s part of the reason we became friends, we were both new and didn’t have any friends at this school. Later that week I started becoming friends with the rest of the girls in our group. Libby and I met in science class and she ended up introducing me to the rest of the group and I soon got Morgan involved too. This year Libby and I got into the same science class, which happens to be the same one we met at, so of course we got all excited and sat at the table where we first met!
All of us were, and still are, total geeks, and that made us click almost instantly. That was the start of a beautiful friendship, one that I am so glad to have!
That’s another thing about new beginnings, not only can you remember it like it was yesterday, but it also leads you into a whole new part of your life that you might have never would have had otherwise.
