Would an edited version of a default style be allowed?

I was wondering if it's allowed to submit edited versions of the default designs to the design game?

In this case it's one of the hairs that annoyed me so I edited it a bit, but I don't think it would be a legal design since really I only edited it a bit and cleaned it up afterwards. However it does look different enough from the original but it's still recognisable as coming from the original.
