Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba and several other cities felt a tremor of 5.2 on the Richter scale. People reporting in to police and authorities said the earthquake lasted about 50 seconds and was long enough to cause things to fall off shelves and walls as well as making them feel dizzy. The epicenter, according to the Sao Paulo Seismological Observatory, was 270km east in the Atlantic Ocean.
There are no reports of injuries or damage to structures as of today.
