I am a counselor for adults that have suffered Traumatic Brain Injury ---
I've got a long 4 days ahead of me - today I got assigned my case load at work, I will be working with the higher functioning clients. Have a Monday deadline to send in the outlines and lesson plans for the groups I will be conducting this month. I am responsible for Social Skills (5), Men's Group (Grooming, Sexuality, Courting women, Sports -- anything that pertains to being a man), Stress Reduction (5), Volunteer Research/Citizenship (5), Debates (5), Self Awareness (5), Cooking Nutrition (5), Support Group (5), Volunteer Outings (5), Newsletter (So excited! I love graphic arts and journalism so I am beyond happy that I will get to empower patients by making a newsletter they can be proud of), Cognitive Games (5), Science Experiments (5), Community Outings (5).
Anyone have experience in this field, or ideas for groups?
Holy fuck. Where do I even start? I feel like the luckiest guy in the world though, I love public speaking, teaching, being creative... this couldn't be more up my alley. I can't believe I am going to get paid to do something I love. Truly blessed.
