MNRS5: Double Cross Format

May 9, 2021 by Pieguy555
Each round, players will compete in a daily challenge as individuals, in pairs, or in teams, where the winner(s) will earn both safety and power. For pair challenges, a random draw will be conducted, and when a player’s name is drawn they will have the opportunity to select their partner. For team challenges, players will be randomly selected to be team captains, and then will choose their teammates using a snake draft.

The winners of the challenge will not only earn themselves safety from being eliminated, but will also have the power to select two of the losing players to compete in The Presidio. It will be revealed which players received votes, and the total number of votes they received, but who voted for who will remain a secret. All of the losing players, including the two players voted into the Presidio, will then participate in the Double Cross (XX) Draw, where two players will randomly draw the Double Cross (XX). The Double Cross not only grants the player who draws it safety, but allows them to choose one of the remaining losing players to be sent into the Presidio. At the beginning of the game there will be two Double Crosses each round, and as the number of players dwindle, it will change to only one Double Cross each round.

The two players voted into the Presidio will then be randomly matched up with the players chosen during the Double Cross Draw, resulting in two different one-on-one elimination duels. The winner of each duel will remain in the game while the loser will be eliminated. This cycle will continue until there is only a few players remaining in the game, at which point they will compete in one final challenge to determine the overall winner of the season.

The Daily Challenge will occur every day at 8 PM EST. The winner(s) of the Daily Challenge will then have until the next day at 6 PM EST to submit their Presidio votes, and once it has been revealed who has been voted into the Presidio, the Double Cross Draw will occur immediately afterwards. In the event of a tie, a random draw will occur between the tied players to determine who will be sent in to the Presidio. There will be no re-votes.

The Presidio Elimination will occur at 7 PM EST, immediately following the Double Cross Draw. If you were one of the losing players, it is highly encouraged that you are online during this time so that you can be present for the Presidio in the event that you are sent in. All of the Presidio Eliminations will be live, meaning that if one player in a Presidio Duel fails to show up and attend their elimination match, it will result in their forfeiture of the duel and immediate elimination from the game. Only in the event that both members of a Presidio Duel fail to show up will their elimination match be changed to a non-live format.
