Why Russell's Move Was Great.

May 6, 2010 by Paige
Alright first of all, I would like to say before I talk about Russell at all, I HATED Sandra in Pearl Islands and I was honestly unhappy when I saw she was in this season and I have to say, she has truly impressed me thus far and I am incredibly happy she is around.

Secondly, Russell's only mistake thus far was underestimating Sandra.

Thirdly, I LOVE that Russell cut the tie between Parvati and Danielle, could Russell beat Danielle in the Final 3? Yes. Could Russell get to the Final 3 with Danielle around? I don't think so entirely. Russell openly admits that he realized he is not in control of the game completely. What did Russell's move of removing Danielle do? It gave him an opening with the Heroes, it put Parvati in her place, and he is once again sitting in a position of power.

Russell will ALWAYS have Jerri in his pocket. The second he did the amazing move against Tyson, she was won over, and that was the million dollar play right there. When Russell showed what he would do for his alliance, he won Jerri, and it paid off (again).

Parvati is a great player, I'm not going to sit here and act like anyone in the game shouldn't be there, I have seen some true colors of players I was not impressed with in their past seasons. So honestly, if you have a favorite player that is not Russell, I totally understand. I have no hate feelings towards any of the players and I hope you understand that I am only writing this because I saw some of the blogs before I saw the episode and I was thinking "Wow, looks like Russell doesn't make a good move..." but that's not the case, I just think people keep themselves closed off from him and his reasoning.

I honestly don't believe Russell will get a single vote to win the game, but he surely does deserve to be there and every time he plays survivor he adds another element to make it more interesting.

Best of luck to your favorite players, and I hope they make it as far as possible!

+10 I think it was a good move, but the way he did it, was wrong which again makes it a bad move. he completely lost a jury vote right there.

WORST move for him to make, hands down.  What was good about it?  He cut the Parv/Danielle tie?  Who cares if they're close, they were top 3.  Danielle was the ONLY person Russel could have beaten in a jury vote and now she's gone.

It was, however, the best move for Jerri, this is her best game yet, Danielle leaving sulitifies her spot in the game because the girl villains needs her, Russel needs her, and the heroes will not target her, they're the last one they'd want gone.

I wish people would realize that just by making big moves, backstabbing, and blindsiding, that doesn't make you a good gameplayer, the best survivor players are the ones that pull those moves out when they NEED to.  Russell does it every round, and for no reason.

He's become, hands down, my least favorite person on survivor.  Ever.

When the casual viewers realize that he only makes it far because he's the biggest goat, and everyone knows they can beat him in the end, the better.

The only reason he got rid of Danielle was because he wants to feel like he's in charge, and he knew he wasn't.  But hey, just because your not in charge doesn't mean you can't win, 90% of the time the people on the outskirts win.

Russell is playing to his strengths.  He is a conniver, so his best chance is to play that strong and justify to the jury why he deserves the money for outplaying them all.

Anyone on THIS season who votes against him because of the petty "he backstabbed" me crap simply didn't deserve to be on an all-star season.

And Russell already knows that Danielle and Parvati would cut him loose in a second.  He can't afford to have any blocks of 2 people sitting around working against him.  His move broke up the strongest bloc on the island that did not include him.  Sure, Colby and Rupert are still there, but Colby has already checked out mentally, and it is TOO easy for him to play the villains against them.  Otherwise...

Jerri - trusts no one but Russell, and no one trusts her
Sandra - no one trusts her
Parvati - no one trusts her, and Russell is the only person she can even partially trust

He has the game right where he wants it in my opinion.  I bet we will watch him skate to the finals with no real talk of voting him out or even of keeping him just to have an easy win.
