Since I had so much time in quarantine, I listened to way more projects than usual, 40 to be exact. Most are albums, but there's 2 or 3 EPs in there so I thought it'd be fun to rank them!
#20 - Half Written Story (EP) - Hailee Steinfeld
Highlights - I mean it's an EP that's only 5 songs, the shortest project I listened to in 2020 so this will be short but Wrong Direction was originally in my top 100 songs of 2020 before I replaced it at the last second. It's obvious the highlight and it was even the song released as a single from the EP. The production is simple, yet powerful, and really does an amazing job of highlighting Hailee's vocals. Honestly...y'know how that trash Olivia Rodrigo song is everywhere. I feel like this song is the superior version of that song's physical sound. Hailee sounds angelic here and I love it.
Lowlights - Easily Man Up. The only lowlight on the album. I wanted to like this song so badly based solely on the title of it, but it's just not good honestly. Oop. Just, like, ew. It sounds so trashy. Whenever Hailee talk-sings, trying to sound so badass, it's just cringey. Talking about cringey...Hailee trying to rap. The whole song just doesn't sound the best and is way too cheesy to actually like. A disappointment, but at least it's the only lowlight on the EP. I rank based off of score, so with it having a 64%, it made top half, but personally I debated switching it with Rare cause I think I might disagree a bit with the placements of those two. So yeah.
