here's the run down... i've never been a fan of needing to use the itunes program, i'd rather pick a program on my own. BUT, my sister has connections, and told me that she'd get me the ipod of my choice for my birthday.
1- do i NEED to use itunes? is there another program that will run with itunes? or in place of itunes?
2- what other features are WORTH having? i'm not really into all the extra stuff, this thing will most likely play mp3s, and almost nothing else
3- which one will hold up against being beat up? i dont want to have to baby it too much.
4- should i just get something else?

1. I think ITUNES is the best to use with it but its not necessary.
2. I guess buying Games, but that's optional.
3. Something with a case.
