i was out for a walk in a small town/city (25,000 people) when i decided to sit on a bench and look at the busiest street in town. It was near the 7Eleven and shopping centers, so regardless of time being 11:00PM on a Thursday; I felt no concern for my safety, so I did what any other gay does and logged onto Grindr to surf through the sea of headless torso's.
Then, a profile who seemed like a nice guy in the past, because he was kind of flirty and friendly sent the message:
"Go home. You shouldn't be out right now."
On my walk home I was yelled at by a car of teenagers, white-gringo rural types who proceeded to be homophobic. Was the text I received somebody looking out for me or was it a threat? I think it was the latter.
